Desert Scale Kuwaiti Scarf - Navy

Desert Scale is woven with rows of small overlapping scales, each one set half a step off the row above it so they interlock the way scales actually do.

They are gathered into wide vertical panels rather than spread across the whole cloth, and the panels narrow and widen as they fall. That shifting width is what gives the scarf its movement, so the texture reads as something living rather than a repeat.

All of it is worked in a single colour. The scaled sections catch light differently from the smooth ground beside them, so what you see is light and shadow rather than any change in dye. The knit is soft cotton jersey, light and slightly sheer, and it holds a wrap without pins. Wear an undercap beneath it for full coverage.

Almost black indoors and clearly blue in daylight. The scale panels give it the detail a plain navy lacks.
