Diamond Stripe carries its pattern in the knit rather than on the surface. Narrow bands of open diamond stitching alternate with plain jersey down the length of the scarf, worked in the same colour throughout, so the design shows as texture and shadow instead of contrast.
Light is what reveals it. The open bands let a little through and read slightly lighter while the solid bands stay deep, so a single shade behaves like two and the stripes only sharpen as the fabric falls.
The cotton and lycra blend is soft with a gentle stretch, which is what makes it stay put through a long day without slipping or needing constant adjusting.
In black the open bands read as a lighter line rather than a different colour, so the stripe is there without any contrast at all. It is the most subtle of the nine.
