Satin Care is made from smooth satin, which is the whole reason to wear it. Cotton drags against hair and pulls the natural oils out of it, and over a day under a scarf that shows at the hairline as breakage and frizz. Satin slides instead of gripping, so the hair underneath is left alone.
The front band is wide and doubled over, which is what holds the hairline in a clean straight edge and keeps the front from creasing at the temples. At the back it ties, so you set the tension yourself rather than working around a fixed size, and the crown is gathered with room in it so hair is not pressed flat underneath.
The smooth surface also means a scarf sits on it with a little more freedom than it would on cotton, which makes wrapping easier to adjust.
